Bruce & Tariro Mutenure.

My wife(Tariro)and l worked for the same company for a number of years, and so when we were both abruptly retrenched in February 2017 we took a bold decision to start our small company with very little savings which we had.We registered Mlink Glass Studio in March 2017.

Naming our company Mlink Glass Studio,we wanted a name that would recognize us in any small way,our surname is Mutenure so we decided to call it (M)link, its the link between the two of us,linking our skills and ideas together.

All our products are carefully and individually handmade, and each piece is unique. We take pride in our work and love seeing clients walking in smile at and getting inspired by what we make.

We continue to see growth, not only growth in scale, and business growth but also skills and creative growth. We thank the local community, the region of Garden route, friends and all our clients from allover and tourists, for their unending support and encouragement.

What is Glass Fusing.

Glass fusing is the technique used to join glass pieces together by partly melting the glass at high temperature. The fusion process requires multiple pieces of glass. The heating is commonly undertaken in an electric kiln were the pieces sit in for many hours before completing the fusing circle and see the end product.

Types of glass.

We work with three different types of glass in all our products.

1-Millefiori:This is a special type of glass which we import from Italy,it comes in raw sheets and rods.We use it mostly to make our exquisite jewellery.

2-Bullseye:We use this type of glass to make some of our unique products such as homeware, deco and art pieces,we get the raw glass from America  in sheets, frits, powders and strings.

3-Float:This type of glass is locally manufactured,we use inclusions with it such as frits, enamels, powders, paints, copper etc to come up with most our art pieces, homeware and also a range of jewellery.

All our products are locally handmade.
